Girija Devi Temple/Mandir (गर्जिया देवी) is located in the Garjiya village near Ramnagar, Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. This is very famous temple and holy place for locals in and around Kumaon regions visited by thousands of devotees during Kartik Poornima (in NOV-DEC). The Temple is named after the daughter of the Himalayas (गिरिराज) and is also another name of Maa Parvati.
The Temple sits on a hilltop in the middle of Kosi River and connected by a pedestrian footbridge. It is around 14 KMs from Ramnagar town under Nainital district on Dhikala road. It is also located near to the Jim Corbett National Park.
I usually go to Garjiya Devi temple with my friends and family and its a short one day trip from Haldwani town to Garjiya Devi Temple, and is around 65 Kms from here.
Here are some of the pics I took on a recent visit:
–> From top of the hill and Temple you can experience the panoramic view of the Kosi river and the flora-fauna around it.
–> At the Base on the hill there is a small Shiva Temple:
